In its inaugural
year in 2009, the Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club
showcased the most talented baseball players
from several western states, including Colorado,
Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota and Utah. Comprised
largely of high school players, the Club amassed
an impressive 27-10 record while playing a
rigorous traveling schedule against college-aged
opponents. Due in part to the Club's
overwhelming success and reputation last year,
the Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club has been
accepted into the prestigious California
Collegiate League (the "CCL") for Summer, 2010.
Established in 1993, the CCL is a summer
collegiate baseball league headquartered in
Carpentaria, California. It is associated with
the National Baseball Congress. Until recently,
the CCL was comprised of five teams, including
2006 and 2008 national champions, the Santa
Barbara Foresters. This year, the CCL invited
two more teams into its ranks, including the Las
Vegas Summer Baseball Club.
The induction of the Las Vegas Summer Baseball
Club into the CCL is not only a great honor for
the Club, but also a great opportunity for the
our community overall. The Club will not only
travel throughout California this coming summer
to compete against the other CCL teams, but also
the Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club will host the
six other CCL teams right here at Morse Stadium
at the College of Southern Nevada. The Club's 18
home games will showcase some of the best
collegiate baseball players in the West. The
CCL's presence in Las Vegas this coming summer
(and beyond) is guaranteed to bring fun,
exciting and exceptional amateur baseball to our
community.
As such, the Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club is
asking for your financial support and
contribution to its success and endeavors in its
premiere year in the CCL. One of our first (but
certainly not our last) fundraising efforts will
be a charitable golf tournament next month.
On Sunday, April 25, 2010, the Las Vegas Summer
Baseball Club will host its first annual
charitable golf tournament at Palm Valley Golf
Club, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shotgun start begins
at 12:00 noon. The price per golfer is $100.00;
it includes 18 holes of golf, two raffle tickets
and one great time. First, second and third
place prizes will be awarded. In addition, a
silent auction will be held and will include MLB
memorabilia, gift baskets, hotel stays, dinners
and much, much more.
Special guest Bret Saberhagen will attend the
event. Saberhagen is a two-time Cy Young Award
winner and a World Series champion with the
Kansas City Royals.
For more information on attending the golf
tournament and/or about supporting the Las Vegas
Summer Baseball Cub, please contact Coach Buck
Thomas at (702) 575-9394. If you are unable to
attend the golf tournament, please consider
donating directly to the Club.
The Las Vegas Summer Baseball Club thanks you
for your support and interest in our success.

College Placement Program at Bat R Up
a grand slam in helping Southern Nevada's
top baseball prospects find get to the next
level
Bat R Up is pleased to offer its exclusive
College Placement Program, which assists high
school baseball players in getting to the next
level behind the area’s No. 1 liaison – Buck
Thomas - between Southern Nevada and College
Baseball Programs.
Buck has assisted and taken hundreds of
families through the financial aid process, the
clearinghouse process, the proper preparation
for the SAT and ACT tests, he monitors grades
and grade-point averages and has the access to
tutors who can help get players to the necessary
levels for college entry.
Coach Thomas has played, coached and worked
with some of the top college coaches in the
country, has been affiliated with some of the
most respected baseball camps and remains in
contact with hundreds of colleges across the
nation.

Buck gets a weekly update from each and every
coach he’s come into contact with, and know
their needs for pitching, hitting, whether or
not it’s a left-handed hurler or power slugger
for their following year’s lineup. He has found
a knack for deciphering what kind of grades a
certain player may need to get into certain
colleges, and can open those doors that have
never been opened before.
For each individual player, Buck finds what
he likes to call the best fit for your child,
whether he is a top tier Division 1 player or
the average ball player looking to use baseball
as a vehicle to get a college education and just
needs to hone his skills at the junior college
level to get to that bigger program.

Again, Coach Thomas has placed more than 100
high school baseball and softball players in
just the past two years alone, and the list
keeps growing! He has placed baseball and
softball players at every level from Division I,
II and III, to NAIA and Junior College.
Those interested in becoming a part of a
fantastic opportunity can contact Bat R Up at
(702) 647-3844 or email
Buck Thomas.
